NCServes – Metrolina

Charlotte is at the heart of the I85 corridor, one of the fastest growing areas in the country. With its warm, friendly people and inviting Southern hospitality, Charlotte is a clean, beautiful and diverse contemporary city that is a dynamic financial center with an ambitious cando spirit.

A dynamic and growing region with a vibrant culture blending urban opportunities with southern charm and an area that boasts eight Fortune 500 company headquarters, six professional sports teams, the US National White Water Center, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and an airport that is a national/international hub, Charlotte is considered the “International gateway to the south.

Highlighted by 210 community parks, a booming healthcare sector and a young and growing population it is easy to see why Queen City’s locals chose to make Charlotte their home while enjoying easy access to the best mountains, lakes and beaches the east coast has to offer.

Given those attributes, it is not surprising to learn Charlotte also has a growing Veteran population. The Charlotte region is home to over 150,000 veterans (and counting) and 800,000 in North Carolina. Over 35% of North Carolina’s population identifies as military, veteran, spouse, parent, or dependent of someone serving in the military.

Charlotte not only leads the state financially it is also leading the state in veteran service delivery. Selected as the 2nd AmericaServes market ever, NCServes – Metrolina is the first of four coordinated networks in a planned statewide initiative. Led by a fantastic team at

Veterans Bridge Home (VBH), the Coordination Center for NCServes-Metrolina brings together over 70 service providers across 10 counties, including Mecklenburg, Gaston, Lincoln, Catawba, Iredell, Rowan, Cabarrus, Union, York, and Cleveland. Charlotte is quickly becoming a national model for public/private partnership and by welcoming thousands of Veterans to this region every year is leading the Governor’s charge of making North Carolina the “Most Veteran friendly state in the country.”

The mission and values of VBH and the entire Charlotte network align with AmericaServes and together we are changing the way our service members, veterans, and their families are receiving services and care.
